Cancer prevalence
Cancer prevalence is a measure of the number of cancer cases diagnosed among people who were still alive at a given point in time. It is presented either as a direct count or a proportion (per 100,000 people) based on time elapsed since diagnosis. Prevalence measures the burden of the disease on the healthcare system, and its eventual cost for the society. It is a powerful indicator that informs decisions about cancer prevention and resource allocation for treatment and care.
